We have been asking our staff to complete a form that essentially creates their entry in Staffology - this includes asking them to provide their gender. For some of our staff, this is not as simple as Male or Female, and we would hate for anyone we ask to fill this form to feel alienated by the information we request from them.
Thank you for your suggestion. Though we understand it is important for employers to support the needs of all of their employees, HMRC requires that all employees are classified as male or female for the benefit of FPS submissions.
Some HR systems allow for additional options, however when connected to payroll they must define the employee as one or the other.
