If an employee has been excluded from the payrun and is a member of NEST, the Staffology link to NEST doesn't report them as 'Insufficient Earnings' in the contribution schedule. You still have to login to NEST, go to the schedule and mark the reason for no contributions manually. On this payrun I'm currently checking in NEST, 5 employees have not been validated for this reason. This is essentially meaning that manual intervention is required when it's supposed to be an automated upload.
I've also just come across a case where an employee that only earned SSP in the month, so had insufficient earnings for the NEST pension, was not reported to NEST as such through the link.
