Currently, in the salary sacrifice group settings, the 'Apply NI Savings to Employer Pension Contribution' option works well for standard contributions. However, when I enable 'Override Worker Group Contributions for this Employee' to customise percentages (e.g., setting EE 8% and ER 10%), the NI savings for the employer contribution are automatically turned off.
This behaviour creates unnecessary room for error as I must manually re-enable the NI savings for each employee and set the appropriate percentage (e.g., 50%). This is especially problematic when dealing with a large number of employees with custom contributions, as it significantly increases the workload, particularly during migrations.
Proposed Solution:
If 'Apply NI Savings to Employer Pension Contribution' is selected at the group level, it should default to being enabled for individual employees, even when custom percentages are set.
The system should automatically carry over the NI savings percentage (e.g., 50%) to the employer contribution for employees with custom contributions.
This change would eliminate manual adjustments, reduce the potential for errors, and save significant time when managing custom contributions for employees.
