When an employee goes on maternity leave and is only in receipt of SMP, there should be a flag we can tick on the persons record that stops basic pay being calculated and paid each month. When the person comes back from leave we can un-tick this so pay is again generated. It is easy currently to miss removing someones pay thus overpaying them.
