Dear Team,
I wanted to bring to your attention a discrepancy in the display of pension contribution lines on payslips within our system. Specifically, payslips generated by Earnie's currently do not show the pension contribution line (E.g., 5% of the 5000)., whereas those generated by STAFFOLOGY do.
There is not a problem in case of the correct contributions made by employees. But it affects the employees those who are in Tax relief which is 80% of the contribution paid by worker and 20% will be contributed by Government.
For example: If an employee's total contribution is 5% also he/she is in Tax relief. the calculation as below
80% of 5% = 4% which is contributed by worker. But the staffology payslip will show 5% of £5000 where the employee contributes for 4% of £5000.
This difference can create confusion for employees who are eligible for tax relief on their pension contributions. Currently, the payslip generated by STAFFOLOGY, which displays the full contribution percentage, may lead employees to believe they are contributing fully. This can result in multiple queries or concerns from employees, which can be frustrating for them and our clients.
To address this issue, I have assured our clients that our development team is working on a solution to implement editable to the pension lines in the future soon. I believe that making these lines editable would greatly improve the consistency and accuracy of the information displayed on payslips.
I receive queries from staff often about this, its difficult to explain that 5% is the total contribution but the figure on the payslip only represents 4%, the line should indicate a RAS scheme or say 4%.
